Care for the Sick & Needy

Sewing Center

Margham’s sewing center enables poor girls and women to learn a valuable and marketable job skill.  Most sarees, Punjabi dresses, men’s shirts, and trousers are custom stitched.  Tailoring is a respected job in India.  Hired instructors teach the girls for six months, after which they receive their own machine to get started in their new profession.  The machines are manually run with a foot pedal because electricity is still unreliable in most of India.

Leper Ministry

Leprosy is still a widespread problem in India.  Lepers are ostracized at the onset of the disease and are left to live as beggars and outcasts. These dear people only find hope and acceptance among Christians.  Margham provides shelter, rice, medicine, and bandages to help ease their suffering in this world, along with the encouragement of the gospel to give peace to their souls.
